Welcome to my portfolio, hopefully you like what you see. While I currently have no formal education in this area, I have studied it for several years as a hobby and as a freelance designer. This was motivated by my passion for design which, hopefully, is reflected in my work.

As a student of chemistry I try to bring across the skills utilised in that area and take a somewhat scientific approach to websites. Analysing the design goals, balancing aesthetics with ergonomics and using logical thought processes to overcome problems.

A healthy dose of gut instinct is also crucial to the process, not everything can be reduced to numbers, sometimes things just work.

My proposed designs for a guitar teaching website run by a fantastic bloke called Justin. His help was invaluable in getting my on my feet with guitar and I thought I'd see if I could repay the favour with a design of his outdated website. Unfortunately my proposal was not selected for the eventual redesign.

Southampton Spitfires

After joining the local hockey club, I volounteered to overhaul their existing archaic website. I implemented a complete redesign and user-friendly CMS that allows potentially anyone within the club to help keep the site updated.
